CHIEF OF POLICE MARK WICKER

Chief Wicker has served in the Law Enforcement field for over 31 years starting his career in 1976.  He has worked for the City of Freeport, Brazoria County Sheriff's Department, City of Brazoria and for Clute from 1981 to present.  Appointed Chief of Police in October of 1988, he is the longest lasting Chief in the history of the City of Clute.  Wicker was named Officer of the Year for Brazoria County in 1986.  He is past president and current member of the Citizens Advisory Panel for Shintech and BASF, having been an original member of that panel.  Chief Wicker is a current member and previous two-term president of the Southeast Texas Chiefs of Police Association.  He is a 1994 graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.  

 

 
   
CAPTAIN  ROBIN CARLTON  
Captain Carlton started in law enforcement in 1978, as a patrol officer with the Freeport Police Department. Captain Carlton worked with Chief of Police Mark Wicker who was also a patrol officer at Freeport.

Captain Carlton started with the Clute Police Department in 1986. He worked in patrol and criminal investigation division, and left the department for a short period before returning, and now has been with the department for a total of 20 years. He worked as a patrol officer, patrol corporal, patrol sergeant, detective, detective sergeant, patrol lieutenant and now Captain.

Captain Carlton was named Brazoria County 100 Club Officer of the year in 2002. He is also a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Leadership Command College; Law Enforcement Management Institute, Class #46, Sam Houston State University in 2004.
